About
A lifelong love of birds and wildlife is at the heart of my work, through which I’m lucky to both indulge and share my passion in a variety of ways: I’m a nature writer, a public speaker, a field ornithologist, a nature guide and a communications specialist.
My nature writing is widely published in magazines, books, periodicals and online, including recent articles for Birdwatch magazine, Birdguides and Birdwatching magazine among various others. Many are viewable here: > ARTICLES

Filming Springwatch at Filey
Sharing my passions and experiences via public speaking is something I increasingly enjoy, travelling far and wide to deliver talks. This year I’ve been asked to speak at both Birdfair and the Spurn Migration Festival among many others. > TALKS
I’m sometimes asked to talk about birds and wildlife on television and radio. Recent appearances include presenting features on Springwatch, Autumnwatch, Natural World, and Springwatch At Easter. > TV & RADIO
Connecting people with birds & wildlife has always been a big part of my life and work, which in recent years has included roles for The Wildlife Trusts, RSPB, Yorkshire Coast Nature, Filey Bird Observatory and many others; some of these roles are ongoing, and others are in the pipeline. I specialise in delivering communications projects and community engagement. > PROJECTS

Filming Autumnwatch in London
I’m an ornithologist often lucky enough to be at work in the great outdoors both locally and further afield. I also keep an online wildlife journal, Northern Rustic, which houses much of my local activities, travel writing, nature photography and general ramblings. > JOURNAL
I’m a songwriter & musician, working in recent years under the moniker of Morning Bride. My latest album The North Sea Rising is available here.> MUSIC
